Refrigerated Air Dryers
Zabatt is the Master
Distributor for the
Gardner Denver, RNC non cycling and RSD refrigerated
air dryer, which is designed to dry compressed air to a safe and manageable
dew point. An
air dryer is able to provide constant dew points of 35-38 ° F with flow
ranges from 10-3000 CFM.
Energy Efficiency
Choosing the correct energy efficient refrigerated
air dryer can be difficult. Most manufacturers try to tell you that a
Thermal Mass Cycling
Air dryer is more efficient if you have a varying air demand. However, if
your air demand doesn't vary, a
Gardner Denver RNC and RSD
air dryer can be more efficient. For instance, if you match a similar sized
cycling and non-cycling air dryers, at 100% utilization, you will find the total
package KW of the non-cycling
air dryer is less.
The
Gardner Denver RSD Series can provide energy savings by using the RSD
digital scroll model that automatically adjusts to your load. The RSD digital
scroll mode lets your profit during anticipated shutdowns and restarts with no
time lag. Not having to cool down thermal mass storage allows instantaneous
savings and a constant dew point.
Dewpoint
Air Dryer manufacturers rate their air dryers based on a 100° F inlet
temperature, 100 PSIG inlet pressure and 100° F ambient temperature. The
Gardner Denver, RNC and RSD refrigerated
air dryer will maintain a constant dew point of 35-38° F. Other technologies
such as Thermal Mass Cycling will have fluctuating dew points, resulting in
water in the air.
Heat Exchangers
The
Gardner Denver, RNC
air dryer incorporates heat exchangers crafted from multiple offset layers
of press formed ANSI 316 stainless steel. Press forming creates peaks and
valleys that form media channels that optimize fluid turbulence. This results
into minimal pressure drop.
Oil Removal
The
Gardner Denver, RNC
air dryer integrates a Grade E Cold Coalescing Oil Removal Filter. Oil
droplets and aerosols are extracted from the air stream in cleaning it down to
0.008 ppm w/w and solids are trained down to 0.01 micron.
Efficient Design
The
Gardner Denver, RNC
air dryer components such as heat exchangers, refrigerant circuit,
condensate separator and drain are readily accessible by removing the panels.
The efficient design allows the need for additional floor space by integrated a
Grade B 3 micron particulate filter and providing the option of a cold
coalescing filter – Grade E (0.01 micron particulate/0.008 ppm oil removal).
Features
- Cycling Control
- No prefilter required
- Minimal pressure drop
- Stainless steel condensate separator
- Quick access to components
- Durable control cabinet
- No air loss condensate drains
- Optional: Cold coalescing separator filter
- Optional: 3 valve block by-pass
Cycling Refrigerated Air Dryers

Zabatt is the Master
Distributor for the
Gardner Denver, RES refrigerated
air dryer which is designed to dry compressed air to a safe and manageable
dew point. The
air dryer is able to provide dew points of 35-38 ° F with flow ranges from
90-675 CFM and maximum pressure ratings of 232 psig.
Energy Efficiency
The RES, Thermal Mass Cycling Air Dryer is the perfect
air dryer for dew point suppression with a varying air demand. A typical
non-cycling
air dryer will be at 90% of its full power even when the inlet capacity is
at 10%.
A cycling air dryer has the
ability to turn the refrigeration air compressor off to match the inlet capacity. Due to the thermal mass circuit, a
cycling
air dryer is able to cycle off and on. The thermal mass circuit is a
reservoir, pump and additional heat exchanger filled with a water/glycol
mixture. This thermal mass circuit acts as a buffer and stores the thermal heat
energy until the refrigeration air
compressor needs to turn on to cool the circuit down.
Example:
300 CFM Air Dryer operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Non-Cycling
8,000 hours x 3 KW x $.10 KW = $2,400 a year
Cycling Air Dryer only needs to operate when needed so it runs 1,000 hours.
Cycling
1,000 hours x 3 KW x $.10 KW = $300 a year
A cycling air dryer would save $2,100 a year. This is a significant savings.

Efficient Design
The
Gardner Denver, RES
air dryer components such as heat exchangers, refrigerant circuit,
condensate separator and drain are readily accessible by removing the panels.
The efficient design allows the need for additional floor space by integrated a
Grade B (3 micron particulate /21ppm oil removal) pre-filter and providing the
option of a cold coalescing filter – Grade E (0.01 micron particulate/0.008 ppm
oil removal).
Features:
- Cycling Control
- Rugged glycol reservoir
- No prefilter required
- Minimal pressure drop
- Stainless steel condensate separator

Desiccant Air Dryers
Zabatt is the Master
Distributor for the
Gardner Denver, twin tower, regenerative desiccant
air dryer.
Gardner Denver provides a heatless, heated purge and heated blower purge. A
desiccant
air dryer regeneration process directs dry air through the tower of
saturated desiccant. The dry air purges the water and moisture vapor from the
desiccant. The purge air is produced by dry compressed air, heated, dry
compressed air or heated, ambient air.
Heatless Desiccant Dryer
Gardner Denver, DGH Series range from 40-5400 cfm. The DGH is specifically
designed for industrial applications. The in-line piping arrangement reducescompressor installation times for
bigger installations. The DGH
air dryer can produce pressure dew points as low as 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Under normal operating condition the DGH uses about 15% of the rated capacity of
the
air dryer for purge air.
Premium Options:
- Energy Saving Controller for exact automatic purge savings
- FIL Series Filter Packages with Bypass Systems
- 5 Year warranty on shiftmatic valve if FIL prefilter installed at
time of air dryer.
Heated Desiccant Dryer
Gardner Denver, DHP Series range from 300-3200 cfm. The DHP can produce
pressure dew points as low as -100 degrees Fahrenheit. The
Gardner Denver DHP uses only 7.5% of the rated capacity of the
air dryer for purge air. This is achieved by using a heater to assist in the
regeneration process.
Premium Options:
Heated Blower Purge
Gardner Denver, DPB Series range from 500-4300 cfm. The DPB is specifically
designed for customers who do not want to have any purge air but require
negative dew points. The
Gardner Denver DPB can have temperature dew point spikes because it uses
blower to regenerate the air. However, the DPB has an option that uses 2% of the
rated capacity of the
air dryer to achieve dew points as low as -100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Premium Options:
